Have you ever needed to translate a text from one language to another and have been surprised by high prices? By all sorts of additional charges for anything? Maybe that is why you seek among those less spectacular providers of translation services that do not promise you translation in many tens of foreign languages, but are prepared to do their job in top quality as well.
We reach more than 40% difference in charged rates. How is that possible? Simply ALDERAN does not have so high operational expenses that would push us to continually increase the prices.We do not have a permanent office, because we do not need any, and yet we may serve our customers well. Therefore we may offer translation services to our potential customers with basic price of 200,- CZK per standard page. The price surely non-standard. Try to inform yourself at our competitors - this shall be our best reference.
Said price is not only the basic price, but almost in all cases also the final one, i.e. we seek not to increase it more. On the contrary, we seek to decrease it even more, according to our valid list of discounts, with respect to method of payment, volume of pages, etc., to make it even more attractive for you. The price is increased only in rare cases, for example in the case of express translation and only when settled with the customer in advance. The price is also valid for both directions of translation that means from foreign language to Czech and vice-versa. That may be considered as non-standard, too. If possible, we deliver our work to customer with the same layout, as the original text. Free, of course. So we could continue to figure out more advantages offered by ALDERAN.

Detailed information on services offered
ALDERAN association ensures the traditional translation services for both English and German languages, focused on below stated domains. Upon a request, we will deliver proof-read texts, interpretation of audio/video recordings or notarization of elaborated translations.
Domains preferred - mechanical engineering, electrotechnics, computer technology, communications, economics.
But if you want, we will deliver the translations from other possible domains, as medicine or law, upon your request.

ALDERAN association created that price system, which enables to offer our customers rates without unnecessary additional charges for special texts, graphic layout, etc. The discount system begins with 1st standard page of each even order at ALDERAN is provided free of charge and continues with further advantages as listed below. The price is valid for both directions of translation.

Poorly readable text - handwriting, corrupted facsimile, rough typescript, many additional make-ups, linguistically unhandy text to the limit of comprehensibility, etc.. However, in this cases you may expect possibly unusually prolonged lead times, with respect to difficulty only a little influenceable by out expert abilities. |

The price list is valid from: 10th January 1999.
Lead times:
Ordinary lead times are calculated according to standard of 7 standard pages per 1 day; said lead times do not include the
day of order, the day of elaborated translation handover, however Saturdays,
Sundays and public holidays are included. An additional fee of 30% per standard
page may be charged for express translation that means for more than 8 standard
pages per 24 hours. The lead time may be adjusted individually - supposedly
shortened, also without the necessity of paying for express translation, when
sufficient capability is available at ALDERAN.
Conditions for cancellation:
Once ordered, the translation may be cancelled for 30% of assumed price as
advised on the day of order, if not more than 1/2 lead time expired.
Method of ordering and translation

The ordered translation is collected personally by a representative of ALDERAN at given place (Prague and Příbram),
pertinently sent by post, fax or e-mail, etc..

How to calculate the volume of translation
The volume of translation is calculated from the following parameters:
- Price for translation is determined as a product of the following formula: volume x price per 1 standard page (minus possible discounts, plus possible additional charges). These additional charges are exceptional, the major part of translation is charged by basic price for plain translation (unless the difficulty of translation excessively overreaches ordinary standard and only after previous agreement with customer, see also a our Price list).

Calculation of translation
volume issues from the term "standard
page" (30 rows x 60 characters, the last page is to be
calculated as a full standard page; see also appropriate ČSN), which is matched
to computerized processing of text so as to stay transparent and easily
controllable for customer, and at the same time not limiting the technical
advantages of graphic layout anyhow. The formula is as follows:
(amount of characters + amount of words) : 1800 = amount of standard pages (round off up)

Explanation:
Amount of characters
is a number shown by word processor in its own statistic (this is not the same
as the size of file!). In Microsoft Word, you may reach said statistic from
menu File, submenu Characteristics, bookmark Statistic data.
Amount of words
is a number from the same statistic; here it means the number of dividing
spaces. In practice it means that all invisible characters (spaces, tabs, row
ends) are reduced to the minimum necessary spaces between words. So customer
does not have to pay more and layout is not impacted in any way.
1800 is the
volume of one standard page: 30 rows x 60 characters totally filled with text.
Round off is made up (unless
the result shows xx,00nothing), since the standard page calculates as
the full units not only the last (i.e. mostly incomplete) pages, but even the
last rows (i.e. the rows at the end of paragraphs), invisible spaces created by
row breaks and also the 1st, 2nd and 3rd omitted row in front of titles
of relevant levels, respectively.

You may reach the same amount of standard pages when saving the
file with translation in text
only format, MS-DOS
text or ASCII
text format. In this case the calculation equals to the
following formula:

Explanation:
In this case the calculation issues from the fact that during saving of file in
said formats the word processor saves only actually written characters of ASCII
code (American Standard Code for Information Interchange) in that amount, how
many times the translator pressed individual keys on PC keyboard. Including
spaces, ends of paragraphs and breaks. Word processor does not save any
information regarding to layout and image processing, so the file size equals
exactly to the amount of characters and words. Of course, ONE characters
occupies ONE byte in computer file.

Our association was founded
in 1997 by the group of translators who want to offer the translation services
to permanent customers. The aim is to create and maintain reasonably extensive
connection of stable business contact, based on mutual satisfaction and confidence.
To make our offer attractive enough, we seek to bid our services cheaper and faster, than our
potential competitors. Besides an acceptable price, ALDERAN offers a guarantee
for special translations requiring the expert knowledge, since the core of its
translators are true experts of their domains. Each translator began his/her
career independently, working for translating agencies and own customers.
ALDERAN associates almost twenty experienced translators of English and German
languages that are mostly the experts in their domains - mechanical engineering, electrotechnics,
computer technology, communications, economics, etc.. That is, in particular,
their principal advantage. Not only they know reliably given language, but
above all they master the terminology of their relevant domains.
This means that the instruction manual for an airplane will be translated and
checked by mechanical engineer, whilst financial analysis by economist.
Major part of our translators graduated in specialized domains, and gained a
practical training or studied abroad or they just possess a linguistic
education.
